Tasting Notes
Delicate pale pink in colour, the nose is characterised by fragrant aromas of fresh red berries, yellow peach and white flowers, underpinned by subtle hints of sweet spice. On the palate, a fresh and vibrant acidity carries flavours of wild strawberries and aniseed onto the crisp finish.

Best served with summer salads or grilled chicken.

The Clos des Trois Sources vineyard has been cultivated organically since 1995. Located in Rognes near Aix-en-Provence, Clos des Trois Sources is surrounded by woods and, as its name suggests, three water sources. Like Château Beaulieu, it is owned by Pierre Guénant and run in the same meticulous manner. The soils are clay-limestone with stony patches, so yields are low as vigour is reduced. The proximity of water, and the clay in the soil, ensures the vines are protected from hydric stress, so the grapes are able to reach physiological ripeness without the vines shutting down.

Clos des Trois Sources is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Rolle. The grapes are directly pressed and then fermented at low temperatures of between 13 to 15°C. Such low temperatures ensure the delicate perfumes of the grapes are retained in the finished wine, which has a lovely scent of fresh red fruit that makes it stand apart from other Provençal Rosés, often characterised by a flinty character. On the palate, it is dry and supple with a lovely texture and excellent length.

While smartly packaged, as you’d expect from a Provençal Rosé, the point which distinguishes this from other Provençal Rosés in our list is the organic viticulture in a single vineyard. It is a striking wine of great character and individuality.
